I thought about deleting the default title for this first post, but after all, it is a first post for a first time blogger, so it is very aptly named. This blog will be mostly about art, or whatever pops into my head at the moment. I’ll be very happy to discuss the latest techniques that I’m working on at the moment. I use several different mediums, pencil, colored pencil, pastel, oil pastel, airbrush, and the good old computer. I love digital because it is art simplified. You don’t need a large area to put your supplies and you can use it just about anywhere. At work, while your watching TV, lying in bed, you aren’t limited by dusty pastels or by the space needed to drag around a case full of colored pencils. The beauty of digital is mistakes are easily fixed with the click of a button. I use Photoshop CS2 the most, but I also love to use Corel Painter and Art Rage 2. Corel to turn my photos into paintings and Art Rage for its simplicity. The way it draws really feels like you are picking up a crayon and using it for a picture. And you absolutely must have a Wacom tablet. I’m hoping for the Cinteq this Christmas. Hint hint if my hubby is reading this. Ta ta for now.
